How to Stay Fit at Work

yoga-at-work1living? No longer can that be an excuse for not staying fit.

Nora Tobin, Fitness Contributing Editor for Shape Magazine, offers “Top 5 Moves to Increase Energy and Focus at Work” in the Huffington Post.

Tobin writes: “A few minutes of movement can work wonders for your body and mind. You do not have to change into your gym clothes and sweat it out. You don’t even have to lay on a mat. All it takes is a five-minute workout that has been specifically designed to be done at the workplace. There is no equipment required and you will be able to return back to your desk roaring to go.”

So what can you do in five minutes? Tobin lists squats, mini-hops, standing crunches, arm raises and legs-up-the-wall.

Tobin says these exercises can be done during lunch. They likely also could be done other times during the day. As she notes: “Perform each exercise as fast as possible for one minute. If you have 10 minutes, repeat the entire routine.”

DID YOU KNOW?

A few months ago I met Kay on the golf course. Who knew spinning a wheel would change my lifestyle. After winning a complementary Workplace Wellness visit for our company it gave me a new way of thinking about seeing a chiropractor. I have to admit; at first I was in it for the free lunch, but when Kay, Dr. James, and Dr. Ashley visited us it was far more than just a lunch. Everyone at our office enjoyed learning more about healthy choices that we should be making and knowing some of the comm…
I just want to say a big THANK YOU for your help last night. You did a great job and you made my job easier. I appreciate you. I had 3-4 people comment how cheerful you were and how competent you were. Actually, I think you’re ‘doctor material’. Have you ever thought of going back to school? Anyway…..thanks again. I loved having you there last night. Success, Health, and Happiness,

About 108 million people in the U.S. have at least one chronic disease such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, hypertension or osteoarthritis.
Finish Line’s team is simply fantastic. Their presentation was informative, humorous and delightful. The shakes they provided were absolutely delicious. We have had many other speakers in our office, but Finish Line was something special. Our employees were engaged like I have never seen them before! I would highly recommend your next wellness presentation to be by Finish Line. They are a highly professional and intelligent group of people!
Chronic disease related to lifestyle account for 70% of the nation’s medical costs.
Thank you so much Dr. Ashley and Kay for coming to Heart of the City Dental for a lunch and learn. We all benefited from the talk on ergonomics, enjoyed the massage and lunch and found the posture check to be enlightening. Special Olympics Minnesota invited Dr. James to our workplace to provide a professional development seminar. Healthy living and wellness is a very important focus for our athletes and staff so we appreciate receiving innovative information from experts. Dr. James was very e…
I really like the Dr. Gianforte and the Minnetonka facility. Very nice people and I can’t wait to hear what she has to say and how she can improve my lifestyle.
As the Marketing Director at Finish Line Wellness, Kay has presented phenomenal qualities needed to produce quality results in this competitive field of wellness and at the highest level of performance required by our company. I have come to know Kay as a great individual performer and a stellar leader. Her unconventional way of thinking contributes to solving practical issues with efficiency. She is creative! I have been blown away again and again by not only her ability to consistently produ…
I have been working with Kay Grobel for about two years. In that time, I’ve witnessed Kay adapt into the best chiropractic and wellness marketing director I have even seen. My practice has shown remarkable growth that has been sustainable and continual since day one. She has an incredible personality that makes her approachable and fun to work with. She is a great representation of what true wellness is all about. I would recommend anyone in need of chiropractic or wellness marketing go t…
